Flag Motorsports at Holley LS Fest West 2023

For the second year, Flag Motorsports has participated in Holley’s LS Fest West at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This year, we had four Flag powered vehicles on premises; including a 2008 C6 Corvette, a 1970 Camaro, a 1973 C10, and a 1971 Camaro.

The 2008 Corvette was a recently completed stock LS3 build, with a fast weekend turnaround to make sure there was enough time for the vehicle to be put back together before LS Fest West.

The 1970 Camaro is driven by George Reiss at Reiss Racing and Restoration. George is a monster behind the wheel, and the car is even more monstrous. His Camaro is powered by a Flag built LS7 that he won’t stop spinning to 8800 RPM even though we keep begging him not to. He has a solid roller cam with Manton rockers and custom sized Manton pushrods. We built this engine in roughly 24 hours about 6 months previously so that George could make it to a different event. He’s been pushing its limits ever since, and was not giving this LS7 any mercy at LS Fest. George took third place in Grand Champion drag racing and 3rd overall in the Vintage class! George’s Camaro was the only steel body car to place that highly and to stay competitive with lighter fiberglass builds. We’re extremely proud of his driving, and proud to have our LS7 powering him!

Next up we had Sabotage C10, a 1973 C10 also built by the badass folks at Reiss Racing. We built the LS3 for this truck back when our client Rich drove it, and now it is being driven by TCI’s own Jason Wilcox. Jason has been relentlessly improving both this truck and his driving, and his performance reflects that. In the truck class, Jason finished 1st in autocross, 5th in speed/stop, 6th in drag racing, and 4th overall. This truck gets down and dirty and Jason is piloting it to success.

Lastly we had Michael’s 2nd Gen Camaro out also participating in the Grand Champion class! The car is a beauty and Michael isn’t afraid to sling it around the track. Though he didn’t place this event, we were thrilled to see him out there competing and can’t wait to be back next year supporting him!
