Flag Motorsports at Holley LS Fest Texas 2023

After a fantastic time at Holley LS Fest West, we decided to travel to Texas for Holley LS Fest Texas 2023! This time we had three Flag Motorsports powered vehicles at the event, including Evan’s C6 drift Corvette, George’s 1970 Camaro (affectionately called BumbleZ), and Sabotage C10.

For this event, the C6 drift Corvette debuted with a full Flag Motorsports livery featuring our colors and the logos of the other supporting partners for this build including Holley themselves, Crown Performance in Vista, CA, and Parts Shop Max in Escondido, CA. Drift participants were allowed to use the Nascar pits which made our autocross companions very jealous. Evan also registered early enough that he was allowed to drive the big oval with his Corvette, a massive honor and incredible experience. Weather was against the entire drift group both days, essentially eliminating the practice time, but we did get some very cool photos out of the event!

Back to everyone’s favorite LS7 abusing maniac, George Reiss brought his A-game for this event. Same as at LS Fest West, George competed in the Grand Champion class meaning that he races autocross, track X, drag, and speed stop on the same set of tires all weekend. It is a grueling class with a diverse range of events that the car has to be ready for. LS Fest Texas has a particularly fast track layout, significantly larger compared to West, and George got to open up every bit of that LS7 out there. George took 2nd in the Grand Champion vintage class, and 2nd over all in drag racing.

And, never one to be outdone, Jason Wilcox had an excellent weekend in the C10. Jason took 1st place in every aspect of the truck class of Grand Champion aside from drag racing, and he took 3rd overall. Even with the weather delays and a broken shifter (seriously he broke his shifter in half) he came out to represent Flag, TCI, and Reiss Racing!

Once again congratulations to our drivers, they support us and we support them. There is nothing better than building a badass capable racecar and getting to go out and use it. We look forward to the next event where we get to join these gentlemen, and see their cars perform!
